SUMMARY:Holiday Cocktail Class
DESCRIPTION:Our final class of the year features drinks inspired by the classic holiday movie It’s a Wonderful Life. In the film\, Clarence enters a bar with George Bailey\, whom he just saved from drowning. George orders a double bourbon. Clarence\, whose last visit to Earth seems to have been sometime in the 1800s\, requests a “flaming rum punch.” These tipples are the inspiration for our holiday cocktail class\, along with stories about the film and American cocktail culture at the time. \n  \nYes\, there will be fire. We begin with a historic punch from England and one of Charles Dickens’ favorites. Then Hogwash Whiskey Den’s master mixologist\, Simon\, will guide you through 2 additional cocktails inspired by the movie. Your mixology lessons will be complete with a primer on using the barkeep’s tools and techniques. Raising the Bar’s resident historian\, Renée (that’s ME)\, will illuminate the stories and history behind these classic drinks. \nTickets are $75 per person. Your ticket includes: \n\nThree crafted drinks\nMixology and history lessons\nAppetizers\nA cocktail recipe booklet\n\nClass includes a bartending station for each pair of guests\, fresh-made and prepped ingredients\, and vintage glassware.
