SUMMARY:Camp Cocktail: The 2000s Cocktail Renaissance
DESCRIPTION:This year’s Camp Cocktail grand finale is on August 17th\, where we will celebrate the vibrant cocktail renaissance of the 2000s. Learn about the bartenders who rediscovered America’s Golden Age of Cocktails and\, as one journalist declared\, “saved the civilized drinking world.” These bartenders by night\, and history sleuths by day\, not only uncovered the drinks of America’s drinking past\, but also the names and ingredients that had been buried since Prohibition. Join us in discovering the birth of the modern craft cocktail movement by making and enjoying cocktails created by these modern pioneers of the craft\, inspired by the classics. \nOur cocktail classes are hands-on\, featuring bartending stations for each pair of guests. You’ll grab onto a shaker\, mixing glass\, and bar spoon while learning mixology techniques. We’ll explain the importance of each method as we guide you through the steps. Our team arrives early to press fresh juices\, make syrups from scratch\, and prepare all the ingredients needed for class drinks. \nIt’s going to be a joyride packed with history and colorful concoctions! Enjoy mixology lessons with Hogwash Whiskey Den’s talented Simon Moorby and Erin Fasbender\, and stories and history of the drinks from historian Renée Cebula of Raising the Bar. \nThe cost of our classes has been creeping up over the last 2 years\, and we’ve tried to cut our margins so as not to have to increase ticket prices. But alas\, tickets will be $84 beginning with our summer classes. We appreciate you.
