SUMMARY:Havana Nights Cocktail Class with Commellini Estate
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Commellini Estate for dinner and our summer cocktail class\, Havana Nights! \nIn the late 1800s\, when not busy conquering Cuba or digging the Panama Canal\, American engineers\, military personnel\, and laborers experienced both the tropical environs and exotic drinks. Word of drinks like the Cocoyage\, Queen’s Park Swizzle\, and the ubiquitous Daiquiri spread. \nEnter Prohibition in the 1920s\, which boosted the tropical rum craze. Tourists from the dry states flooded Havana\, drinking daiquiris and fizzes and creating the cruise line industry. The 1940s and 50s brought a flood of Americans to Havana to enjoy the drinks\, music\, and tropical paradise. \nThis rum-focused interactive class will enlighten the cocktail enthusiast while mixing and sipping a chronology of 3 drinks that tell the history of Havana. Immerse yourself in the world of mixology with our hands-on class set-up. You’ll find bartending stations equipped with all the necessary tools\, fresh-made syrups and juices\, prepped and ready ingredients\, and vintage glassware. Shake\, swirl\, and sip in style as you deepen your knowledge of cocktails and develop your palate. \n\nInspired by the Havana Conference of 1946 — rum\, apricot\, pineapple\, lime\, fizzy water\, allspice bitters float\, mint\nPresidenté Mario García Menocal inspired the drink enjoyed in Havana in the early 1900s — aged rum\, dry vermouth\, curaçao\, orange bitters\, grenadine\, orange oil\nA Cuban cocktail class wouldn’t be authentic without “Papa’s” fav — silver rum\, maraschino liqueur\, lime\, cran bitters\, grapefruit\, brandied cherry\n\nThe evening begins with dinner\, followed by the cocktail class.\nOn the Menu for Dinner: Focaccia Bread\, Commellini Caesar Salad\, Pasta Bar Buffet Featuring three of the Commellini Estate Historical Sauces\, including our Spaghetti with Gina’s Vegetable Marinara\, Fettuccine & Albert’s White Wine Alfredo\, and Rigatoni & Leda’s Meat Sauce. \nFull details and to purchase tickets are at Commellini Estate –>> Click HERE! \nEmail Renée if you have any questions at owner@raisingthebarNW.com \n

SUMMARY:Camp Cocktail: Havana
DESCRIPTION:At the height of America’s Golden Age of Cocktails\, Prohibition shuttered the doors of drinking establishments. That golden age had fueled the rise of a cadre of professional bartenders. SUMMARY:Holiday Cocktail Class with Hogwash Whiskey Den
DESCRIPTION:Our holiday class features drinks inspired by the classic holiday movie; It’s a Wonderful Life. In the film\, Clarence enters a bar with George Bailey\, whom he just saved from drowning. George orders a double bourbon. Clarence\, whose last visit to earth seems to have been sometime in the 1800s\, requests a “flaming rum punch.” These tipples are the inspiration for our holiday cocktail class — along with stories around the film and American cocktail culture at the time. \n\n\n\nYes\, there will be fire. Beginning with a historic punch from England and one of Charles Dickens’ favorites.
