Class Description: Discover the rich history of New Orleans while making and enjoying classic NOLA cocktails. This interactive cocktail class combines history and mixology, catering to both beginners and experienced cocktail enthusiasts. You’ll get hands-on bartending and mixology experience as you learn to stir, shake, and sip.

Find out why New Orleans is known as the cocktail cradle of America. The class setup features bartending stations equipped with all the necessary tools, freshly prepared ingredients, vintage glassware, and a class booklet. Shake, stir, and sip in style as you explore the stories, learn the techniques, and refine your palate.

Included in the Cocktail Class:

  • Classic Commellini Pasta
  • Three crafted drinks
  • Mixology and history lessons
  • A cocktail recipe booklet

There will be a bartending station for each pair of guests at class, fresh-prepped juices/syrups/garnishes, and elegant vintage glassware. Shake, sip, and savor in style as you deepen your knowledge of cocktails and develop your palate.

MUST BE 21 and over. The class is limited to 30 guests.

-Commellini Caesar Salad

-Pasta Bar Buffet: Featuring three of the Commellini Estate Historical Sauces including our Spaghetti with Gina’s Vegetable Marinara, Fettuccine & Albert’s White Wine Alfredo, and Rigatoni & Leda’s Meat Sauce.

What to Expect: In this intimate, hands-on cocktail class, you will be paired up at a station with vintage glassware and classic craft bartending tools.

+Interact with classmates and the instructor for a rich, intimate learning experience

+The class, including mealtime, takes approximately 3 hours.

+Each participant will receive a specialized booklet provided by “Raising the Bar” with 3 cocktail recipes and history about each cocktail!

+Full Meal Menu including Bread, Caesar Salad, and our Pasta Bar Buffet.

+Raising the Bar will provide all the bartending equipment and supplies.

+Class is not available to minors under the age of 21. Must bring proof of ID.

+ Class Size: 30 people maximum

About Raising the Bar

Renée is a historian. A history educator for 20-plus years, she researches American drinking history. Her company, Raising the Bar, is about advancing knowledge and inspiring curiosity around cocktail culture’s history, roots, and stories. Renée’s passion is connecting people to history through interactive cocktail-themed classes, writing, hands-on bitters kits, and unique shopping experiences. She has taught over a hundred classes and has been a featured speaker for the Washington State Historical Museum, McMenamins History Pubs, and other organizations.
